Whilst waiting in the traffic, or walking past our new premises at 32 Castle Foregate, the beady-eyed amongst us may well have spotted our new logo peeping out from behind the scaffolding.
Our charity is entering an exciting new era, and this is an exciting period of growth and change for the Shrewsbury Ark. Our new home promises to be a real community asset, providing support and guidance as well as basic living facilities, for those who are vulnerable or homeless in our county.
With this in mind, the Trustees felt the Ark’s logo needed a bit attention as well as the building.
It’s been around 15 years since our charity had a new logo. Our previous much-loved logo, featuring the Ark riding a wave in the neck of the River Severn loop, had an international flavour, as it was designed by a supporter living in New Zealand!
Our bright new logo has been created by local graphic designer and Ark supporter Beccy Hollands; this talented creative, with many years of experience, kindly offered her services for free.
In keeping with our mission to provide comfort and practical help to those who find themselves in troubled waters, Beccy has worked with the original design, giving it a contemporary twist with bold colours, and a shining sun.
"I am a keen supporter of the Ark and when I heard that they wanted to refresh their much-loved logo I was only happy to help. It's not always easy trying to keep the character of an existing logo, whilst bringing it up to date, but I'm really pleased with how it's turned and out and delighted that the clients and volunteers from The Ark like it," says Beccy.
We love our new logo, and we are exceeding grateful Beccy gave us her time and talent to give our new home its own special identity.
It’s a huge THANK YOU from us!
